The objective of the study was to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice of Five Moments of Hand Hygiene among Medical staffs in two teaching hospitals, Omdurman, Khartoum State, Sudan. Data was collected via questionnaires, interviews and personal observation of the health care workers performing hand hygiene. Data analysis was performed using SPSS. The majority of the health workers at the two institutions agreed to most of the questions. More than 95% agreed that hand hygiene compliance can be improved by displaying posters and reminders at point of care. While 90% agreed that compliance with HH can be improved by administrative orders and continuous observation. 98% of the health worker said should be enrolled in training sessions regarding IC and HH practices.
