Abstract
The aim of any analytical measurement is to obtain accurate, reliable, and consistent
data. Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) are vital in obtaining reliable results in
various analytical fields such as environmental and medical studies. This paper
discusses the production of an agricultural soil CRM candidate from the Al-Ahsa
region, Saudi Arabia, using an ICP-MS instrument. The CRM is intended to be
applied for quality assurance of toxicological and environmental analyses of soil
matrices for some elements at macro, micro, and trace levels. This article
demonstrates homogeneity tests as an essential parameter for CRMs. A one-way
Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to assess the between-bottle homogeneity
at a confidence interval of 95%. The p-values of all elements in this CRM candidate
are > 0.05, indicating no significant variation in elemental concentration.
